What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is an ordinary link with a code identifying that you arrived from here. If you then book or buy on the destination site, that site pays us a small share of what it earns. You are dealing with them, not with us: they take the payment, issue the confirmation and provide the support.
It costs you nothing extra
The price is the same whether you use our link or go to the site directly. The commission comes out of the partner's own margin, never as a surcharge to you.
It does not affect the ranking
This is the important one. Positions are computed automatically from Google rating and review data. Whether a place has an affiliate link, and how much it might pay, has no influence on where it appears. A hotel that earns us nothing can and does outrank one that would.
Where they appear
Where a booking link is useful — stays and ticketed attractions in particular — it is shown as an explicit button, not hidden inside body text. Partners are typically hotel booking platforms and tour or ticket sellers.
Why we do it
Browsing is free and there is no subscription, so commissions and advertising are what pay for the site's hosting and its data costs. If you would rather not use them, going to the partner directly is always fine. Questions: contact@topspotsreviews.com.
