Really superb temple, well worth a visit after Arashiyama forest. It’s not very crowded and has a beautiful garden and a sacred freshwater spring. Make sure to pay a visit to the fish and feed them!

Came across this shrine while searching for something else and we really enjoyed it. It's located on the outskirts of Kyoto, with monkeys jumping above your head, very serene. We liked it much more than other touristy temples we have seen.
