How TopSpotsReviews works
Our goal is simple: you open the site and, in seconds, discover the best places in any city in the world — no more digging through scattered lists and reviews.
1. Where the data comes from
Ratings and review counts come from Google Maps, the world's largest review base. Any city is fetched live on the first visit and cached, so the site stays fast and fresh.
2. Why we don't sort only by review count
Sorting only by number of reviews always shows the most touristy — not necessarily the best. So we use a Bayesian score: the more reviews a place has, the more its real rating counts; with few reviews, the rating is pulled toward the average to avoid distortions.
3. The sorting modes
Best (our smart ranking), Most reviewed, Highest rated, Hidden gems, and Trending (fastest-growing reviews).
4. How we sustain the site
It's free to browse. It's supported by ads and booking links (hotels and tours), which may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
